I can also confirm this is happening with jaunty and nvidia drivers with
compiz enabled. When i move the mouse while playing fullscreen video in
totem or while leaving fullscreen mode in firefox, the wallpaper appears
for a split second. Disabling compiz removes this behaviour.

A workaround for this bug is to to uncheck Unredirect Fullscreen
windows in CompizConfig Settings Manager - General Options - General
tab or by running gconftool-2 --type boolean --set
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/unredirect_fullscreen_windows
False.
