I think Brian's idea solves the problem in the most usable manner,
assuming you can get the link in the description area for large bugs.

If this is done it would probably be useful to also add the lp username
to the data so in cases where you collect more than one set of data it
is clear who each set of data belongs to.

With launchpadlib it should be possible to check if the user adding data
is the bug's reporter.
If the collector is not the reporter I'd say add a comment with the
complete details and maybe add a link in the description to the comment
with the complete details.
