I've added documentation for how to build ubuntu-like kernels at

bug with kernel-package itself. Thus, I'm closing the bug as invalid.

The debian control scripts (specifically the postinst script) need to be
pulled from the current kernel packages. Unfortunately it's not quite
that easy as there needs to be some initrd version string fixups, but
hopefully they wouldn't be too difficult. I'll be taking a closer look
at this.

Yeah I've noticed --initrd does nothing. I have initramfs support
compiled in the kernel though. SO ANNOYING!
