Either it's not fixed, or it's back.
Because I'm still experiencing this issue with Catalyst 10.7 (downloaded
from ATI website) in Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit. Unminimizing a non-maximized
window is instant, but there's a noticeable pause before unminimizing a

problem. But I suspect it introduces performance degradation on Xorg.

Full ACK. As i wrote, a patch can't be the final solution. But i think, as the
bug is present for over two releases of ubuntu, there must be a semi-official
ppa or so one. This means, the ppa has to be promoted in the wiki, faq etc. I

To be fair, I've noticed a similar lag and 100% CPU usage during resize

I've set up another PPA with the patch for testing:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~bryceharrington/+archive/violet
The issue and reason this isn't in Ubuntu (and probably why it's not
upstream either), is that I *think* this risks causing regressions for
non-fglrx cases. Maybe I'm wrong though,
This bug also affects me with Ubuntu 9.10 and Radeon HD 2400.
