So maybe the real question should be Why does the WPA- PEAP setting
NOT work for the intel 3945 chip, but the IEEE8021X-PEAP setting DOES?
Are these two distinctly different types of network, or is there
something screwy with the intel 3945 driver?

Network Manager plasmoid cannot set
I've tried to add support for it, but I haven't managed to get it to
work (my campus uses IEEE8021X as well).
I've tried hard coding the key management to
Knm::WirelessSecuritySetting::EnumKeymgmt::Ieee8021x (it's WPAEAP right
now) also, to no avail.

I filed this as a separate bug report since bug 334502 specifically
refers to WPA-Enterprise. According to the documentation on wpa-
supplicant, WPA-EAP is NOT the same as IEEE8021X. Per Hermansson's
patch
