I see it's being fixed - but until then, is there a workaround for this
problem?
becuase of this bug, I'm stuck with installing cacti at the moment :(

This issue is already fixed in mldonkey 3.0.0-1. Version 3.0.0-2 currently in
karmic include the fix.

nothing to do with your issue. You could raise a question on the answer-
tracker, https://answers.launchpad.net and someone there will help
resolve your issue. My bet would be that phpmyadmin prevents logins with
empty-passwords.

I have the same problem when I try to install phpmyadmin. Has there
been a patch yet? The error I get is below. I did a normal install and
choose no password but when I try to login using username root and no
password on the phpmyadmin login screen I get Access denied. However
what's funny is
Fixed for cacti with the new version.
