But I found the solution: I change the permissions to 777 for the
/home/{user}/.openoffice folder and the problem was fixed.
Any idea why?

It shouldn't need 777 but probably something at some point in the past
got set to the wrong permissions value and now it is showing up as a bug
for you. If you don't have anything special set in your configuration
deleting the ~/.openoffice.org* directory probably will fix the issue as
well.
