If indicator-applet is crashing in karmic, you should be seeing an alert
icon in your task bar notifying you of the crash. Please use that to
file an automatic bug report that will include the information necessary
to address this bug (including showing whether or not it's really this
same bug).

I think this call to parent's finalize should be at the end of the
function, not the beginning.
