Public bug reported: After updating to Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04, my PS2 IBM mouse (Model 12J3619) has stopped scrolling with kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (i386). Booting with kernel 2.6.27-11-generic (i386) solves the problem. Booting with another OS also works, so I deduce it is not a hardware problem.
This mouse is a bit special. It doesn't have a wheel but a "trackpoint" you push up and down (without middle click). It looks (almost) like this: http://www.almaden.ibm.com/cs/user/tp/tpmouse1.GIF. My laptop's external USB mouse works, but I really love my IBM PS2 :D. I'm using a Nvidia Gforce 8400 GS with propietary drivers (version 180). Xev doesn't print anything when I scroll, but I noticed something weird with "xinput list". The output is different with 2.6.28-11 (scroll doesn't work) and with 2.6.27-11 (scroll works). Both outputs are attached, and also a "lspci -vvnn". ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 2.6.28-11 breaks mouse scrolling https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
