KDE 4.3 fixed this)

This would be on the Jaunty release with kde 4.2, so I believe this is
the widget. The release was installed when it was in alpha 5, but had
been kept up to date as of the reporting of this issue.

Are you referring to the power management widget, which resides outside
the system tray (this is default in jaunty)? Or is it the power manager
with an icon in the system tray (default in intrepid)?
