A more disturbing issue is that the battery warning mechanism still
doesn't seem to be in place (a laptop just dies on the user when the
battery runs out without trying to suspend or warn the user about the

A workaround to have Evolution be usable in this guise is to
disable HTML email rendering in the settings.
But that makes Jack a dull boy. I will see if I can
find someone responsible for the Windows port of evolution.

ensure that it's not a hardware issue (defective).

I gave up on finding the cause myself and reinstalled jaunty from scratch.
Suspend now seems to work. /gunnar
