Just ignore the error-message, the installation is still o.k. The only
error is the error-message.

I get a message now about dependency problems, so uppose it is related to
recent upgrades clashing. I twould be good
to use the MS fonts but I can wait.

Terminal didn't make sense of all put in together or the first line by itself.
It did nothing with the 2nd.
The next two brought some upgrades and this message twice:

Same problem happened on a new install of 8.1,and thwen upgrade to
9.04.I have a direct internet connection.I have had problems in recent
days of getting the repositories to find a download server.Might be
related.

fix worked for me, but apparently it doesn't work for everyone

This happens everytime I run the update manager or sudo apt-get update.
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 64bit, it is not locking out any other package
updates or installations, it's just a very annoying error message that I
would like to get rid of!

I do not know why this bug has been marked as invalid. I have had this
error message repeatedly and always with active internet access. This
was after a clean install, not upgrade, to Jaunty 9.04 32 bit.
