Hi,
just to let you know that "fails to halt" does not occur anymore. But the
second problem still exists. If I suspend to ram (or to disk) and try to
restart the system, the system will shut down. But only if the time gap between
suspend and resume is greater than approx. 2 hours.

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .
