kpackagekit set to automatically install security only,
I have not experienced any of this behavior yet with the new version. I
am assuming it is gone. I will write here again if it happens.

It looks like you're using a completely outdated version of kpackagekit
from a PPA (0.3.1-0ubuntu1~ppa2). The version released in jaunty is
0.4-0ubuntu8. Please test if that version doesn't do it correctly.
