I have apt-cacher-ng version 0.7.2-1ubuntu1 on kubuntu 12.04.
CPU load keeps on 100% and does not go down even after hours.

I have this exact same problem, I am running apt-cacher version on jaunty
server:
apt-cacher_1.6.7ubuntu4_all.deb
high cpu load for new version of apt-cacher.
99% cpu.
and downgrading to version:
apt-cacher_1.5.5_all.deb
Reverting to 1.5.5 puts the cpu load back at 5%.

install

I have the same problem. I have currently one client updating and the
CPU usage on the caching server is showing as 100% for apt-cacher in
'top'.
