I have this exact same problem, I am running apt-cacher version on jaunty server: apt-cacher_1.6.7ubuntu4_all.deb high cpu load for new version of apt-cacher. 99% cpu. and downgrading to version: apt-cacher_1.5.5_all.deb Reverting to 1.5.5 puts the cpu load back at 5%. Repro Steps: install
