Fixed in Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) with gutenprint 5.2.3
For Ubuntu = 8.10 please use the distribution independent gutenprint 5.2.3
package that is now available on openprinting:

According to the upstream gutenprint changelog printing to the EPSON
Stylus S20 printer has been corrected in 5.2.3, so I would suggest to
either upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 or to request for a 5.2.3 package on
openprinting.org if you are using Ubuntu 8.04.
