If it lands in Tbird-3 than it should make it into Karmic however that depends
on how fast upstream moves and how many bugs they need to fix before release. I
dont have a ETA on release for it yet.
The package in the repos that you said was for Seamonkey well it is also usable
with firefox

I did a search for mozilla-traybiff=common and found this:

Is there a reason why this is a good idea? What do you expect it to do
for you? Just check email while Tbird is closed?

If you click the close window by accident, or if you simply close the
application, it quits. You then have to restart the application from the
menu. Surely an email application should remain open and be as
unobtrusive as possible? All I am asking for is an option to minimise to
the top Gnome
