package virtualbox-ose-source 2.1.4-dfsg-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade:
subprocess post-installation
@Derek Kaye: that sounds vaguely like it was covered by bug #334528

package virtualbox-ose-source 2.1.4-dfsg-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade:
subprocess post-installation script killed by signal (Interrupt)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383183
You received this bug notification because
It does the same for me... it didn't hang, nor did I interrupt it.
The application launches fine from the menu, but when trying to start a
virtual machine, it comes up with errors and asks ubuntu users to run
'/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'. This file doesn't exist.

package virtualbox-ose-source
Do you also have Sun's Virtualbox package installed locally?

You received this bug notification because you are
I don't have Sun's Virtualbox package installed.
I've worked out that mine was caused by not having linux-headers
installed. Installing them fixed it. Does this need to be added to the
dependencies?

package virtualbox-ose-source 2.1.4-dfsg-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade:
subprocess
The error message indicates you interrupted the installation. Was it
hanging, or did you just cancel it, or is there something else going on?
Other than that, this looks more or less like bug #357211.
