Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdesdk
Binary package hint: kate Kate (or a kde library I suppose) does not seem to update the screen output of the text-area, thus when I use the scroll-wheel of the mouse or the page-up/-down buttons to navigate, I do not see the lines that should be visible by now. When then using the up/down buttons to navigate line by line, Kate will eventually update the graphical output of the line in which the cursor is ±3 lines top and below. However as navigating within text-files is very essential for an editor, this bug prevents usability completely. The desktop is running the compiz composite manager using an nvidia graphics device. Other kde applications (such as kaffeine) or other parts of kate do not show similar problems, neither do gnome applications. $ LANG=C apt-cache policy kate kate: Installed: 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu1 0 100 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 ** Affects: kdesdk (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kate is unusable because of missing screen-updates https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383489 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
