This bug was reported to jaunty and getmail version 4.8.4 is recorded in
bug log.
Since Jaunty package only had 4.8.4-1 this should be associated to
4.8.4-1 .
The upstream current version is 4.20.0. I recommend Ubuntu to backport
from Debian sid.
