Public bug reported: Binary package hint: devicekit-power
Since upgrading to gnome-power-manager 2.27.1-0ubuntu2, which IIUC switched backends from hal to devkit-power, g-p-m thinks I'm always on AC, and doesn't even acknowledge the fact I have a battery. Rolling back to g-p-m 2.26.1-0ubuntu4 results in correct behaviour. I'll post some attachments with various debugging info...
