I've got version 1.6 and I also have sorting field problems, though
slightly different (setting the sort field for all tracks in a
particular album actually set the sort field to the same value for all
the tracks in my library, now that sort field cannot be changed or
deleted for any

ceneketcham: I've also seen that warning, and I've also had problems
with sort fields not retaining their values. I never made the
connection before, but if indeed that warning is related to the problem,
developers would probably benefit from that information.

I've been running with --debug the past couple days, and noticed this

I've had a little more time to take a look at this, and it looks like I
don't even need to close the program for it to strip out the Sort
Artist.
In the morning, I can change the Sort Artist field for Jack McDuff to
McDuff, Jack. It will work immediately, changing the sort order for
those tracks.
Sure. What I mean is that information entered into these fields does not
seem to be retained after I close the program.
For example:
I can change the 'Sort Artist' and 'Sort Album Artist' fields for an
album to Zappa, Frank, and hit save. It will then appear in the
correct location under 'Z' as
