Same here. I'm running Pidgin 2.5.6 on Windows Vista 64-bit SP1. It just
hangs logging in to Yahoo!. It does keep running. I can interact with
it, send messages using other protocols, etc. But it keeps saying
Connecting..., and my Yahoo! contacts never appear.

I only just noticed this is the Ubuntu launchpad. :-)
So apparently the problem is not Ubuntu-specific.

the old authentication protocol Piding is using.
