Exactly same behavior on Kubuntu, alpha 3 and alpha 4. I upgraded from 9.04 and lost wireless connections, but the button did turn wireless on and off (with no response from knetworkmanager though). A clean install with alpha 4 produced the same results as repoted by other people here and in
