Unfortunately, the last driver also introduces other much more serious
problems for me. This is just a warning for people that might read this
ticket and think the x-swat driver will solve their problems.

Attached the lspci output. I don't think I am experiencing the infinite
loop bug, as I could not find the report error message in the Xserver
log files. I did not see any error messages in the log files, for that
matter.
I will try the x-updates drivers later. I do want to also note that
I cannot reproduce the freezes in karmic and I am not using any packages
from the PPA.
I think that the freeze said in the freedeskop bug is introduced with more
latest versions of the packages in the X stack. and the freeze in this bug
is a separate issue fixed by some other updates.
On Sun,
The bug reappears with xserver-xorg-video-intel
2:2.7.99.1+git20090602.ec2fde7c-0ubuntu4.
I just now got this package from karmic updates. Now I will test with the
package from PPA. which should fix this.

Hi oded-geek,
Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've
made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.
[This is an automated message. Apologies
Is this the same as bug 328760?

I don't think it is - I don't have any problem with the screensaver
(which I enabled to test and got back after several hours and everything
came back).
