Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy packagename' or by checking in Synaptic. pidgin: Installed: 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8 Candidate: 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8.1 Version table: 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8.1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Packages *** 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu8 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What you expected to happen Just starting pidgin, expected to connect to Yahoo! 4) What happened instead Gets stuck while "Connecting". -- For the last few days, I have not been able to connect to Yahoo! using pidgin. Instead of starting, it hangs with the little status button at the bottom reading "Available - Connecting". The little spinner is not spinning. If I run strace on it, it seems to be in an infinite loop (note that the CPU is NOT 100%, like some previous Hardy bugs had mentioned). The part of 'strace' that repeats, with a few seconds in between repeats: gettimeofday({1245685056, 315023}, NULL) = 0 open("/home/alan/.gnome2/nautilus-sendto/spool", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_LARGEFILE|O_DIRECTORY|O_CLOEXEC) = 7 fstat64(7, {st_mode=S_IFDIR|0755, st_size=4096, ...}) = 0 getdents(7, /* 3 entries */, 4096) = 48 getdents(7, /* 0 entries */, 4096) = 0 close(7) = 0 read(3, 0x893d508, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable) gettimeofday({1245685056, 315485}, NULL) = 0 poll([{fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=10, events=POLLIN|POLLPRI}, {fd=12, events=POLLIN}, {fd=14, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}, {fd=13, events=POLLIN}, {fd=16, events=POLLIN}], 8, 3000) = 0 (Timeout) ** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- pidgin gets stuck on startup, EAGAIN https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390722 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
