Public bug reported: Using Ubuntu 9.04 x64, x32 and LinuxMint 7 x32. All systems are up to date and fresh install (OS installed directly, no upgrade).
Signing in an MSN account. Can only see online buddies if the buddies use Windows. If the buddy use Pidgin from Ubuntu then it is always offline. Even if I go on the MSN Live web site to add the buddy, then close browser and start Pidgin, the buddy is still shown as offline. The same buddy, instead of using Pidgin from within Ubuntu, now use a Windows program, Miranda IM 0.80 for example, then becomes online. The MSN Options (server & port) are identical between Miranda IM / Windows and Pidgin / Ubuntu. This problem didn't exist when I started using Ubuntu almost a year ago. I am not sure when this offline issue started but it dated at least since April 2009. Thanks for taking care of this issue. ** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Buddies from pidgin / Ubuntu shown as Offline, from Windows shown Online https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/391921 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
