After powerup, Gufw is asking for a password (dialog pops up) and an
icon is set into the icon-tray. As long as one enters gufw by means of

I'm using GNOME.
After booting up the system and logging in, I need to enter my password in
order to enter gufw. That's fine.
Now if I just log out and log in immediately, then I can enter gufw without any
password! So there is a difference
between logging in after power-up and
Yes, you have 15min. (in your case) without password, I think is for all root
aplications.
Included log out + log in ;)

and a green one, stating that the firewall is active ???

Well the bug is that the dialog for requesting your sudo-password is not
popping-up when you select gufw by means of the menu : System -
Preferences - Firewall Configuration. I don't have this problem on
other computers. Is it possible that is the case just after installing
gufw? And why do I have

the last minutes, Ubuntu don't ask it ;) Can you try it in a new start up?
