Confirming this is still an issue on FX 4.0. I tried both firefox -p
-no-remote and firefox -P -no-remote and firefox -no-remote.
The behavior of firefox -p should be to launch the profile manager as far as I
know.

No, that isn't what I am trying to do. I was trying to open a new
firefox session. Draycen, the questions you ask are already detailed in

Correct, but if you are just looking to open a new window, you can use
File > New Window, Ctrl+N, or 'firefox -browser'. Is that what you are
trying to do?

The -P flag does bring up the profile manager correctly since a while
back (sorry for not updating this bug after switching to Chromium 0=).
Still though, as I think you mentioned, Draycen, -no-remote will not
open a new instance of the same profile.

Sorry for not responding in so long. When I try to use 'firefox -P -no-
remote' the profile manager comes up fine for me. Just entering 'firefox
-no-remote' attempts to use the same profile that the current instance
has locked, so it does not work. Do you still get this message when
trying to use '
Confirmed on my system using Firefox 3.7 on Ubuntu 10.04
Running "firefox --help" says that "-no-remote" should "open new
instance, not a new window in running instance" which clearly isn't
working properly.
