As noted by the original bug reporter in comment #2 this is no longer an
issue for them. If anyone is still experiencing issues you have a
different bug which warrants opening a separate bug report. I'm re-
closing this as Fix Released for the original bug reporter.

Same symptome on ubuntu 9.10 with audio CD.
Additionaly if I introduce a RW cd in my recorder, my cd burner don't detect it
and if I try to erase it Brasero say "no disk".
and I get this in my syslog :

I believe this is related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/devicekit-disks/+bug/397906 a fix for that is in devicekit-disks.

Issue is sill observed on Linux version 2.6.31-14-generic

SMP Fri Oct 16 14:04:26 UTC 2009. When inserting AudioCD following
message appear in the dmesg and CD is not mounted:

I have the same Problem, but with blank cd/dvd and not wiht audio. Maybe these
Problems are somehow connected...

I just started having this bug with Kernel 2.6.31-12. Some audio CD's
don't appear on the desktop when inserted. All audio CD's don't list
the CD name or track names on the desktop. Let me know how to help
troubleshoot.

hrmm playing the audio cd in 'sound juicer' does not have the same
fragmented effects that playing the audio cd in other players such as
vlc/totem/audacious has. what's going on?

I have the exact same error messages when inserting an audio CD with
2.6.31-5, though the CD is then regnonized by GNOME and I can read it
with an audio CD player. (Note the additionnal ILI message in the dmesg
output:)

Can you try testing the newer 2.6.31-4 kernel. I believe this was
related to the following upstream bug (which has been fixed):

I myself am unable to reproduce the issue here with the 2.6.31-4 kernel.
