Just a quick note: I'm the release manager for Django (confirm by
checking PGP key associated with my Launchpad account; it's the same key
used to sign the Django release checksums), and I'm set up to receive
email notification of anything showing up in Launchpad for Django, so if
there are any
The MIR needs to be corrected: django does have a testsuite (tests
directory). Given it's low CVE history, inclusion of FastCGI examples,
and general good design, if the packaging was updated to use the
testsuite and fail the build on a failure, I would accept this for main.

I believe that the easiest way to enable testsuite would be to ship a
dummy project in debian/ directory that will provide settings for
runtests.py script. I'll send an email to debian maintainer and see if
we can do it in Debian and not create local delta. Regardless of his
