reboot). The issue originally reported in this bug report has been
resolved by installing this package. Also please ensure there are no
extra alsa model quirks in your /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

After installing the linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic
package I have noticed that sound is working better on this model of
laptop than ever before. All speakers are working as they should, both
of the headphone jacks are now functional the built-in bi directional

alsa seems to have fixed a few problems that are similar to this. Could
you please install linux-backports-modules-alsa and retest then report
