hi, i can confirm the same problem, even with wireless connection
I have Kubuntu Karmic KDE 4.3
with the kernels 2.6.31-4 and 2.6.31-5 i have the message:
Open a socket for LPF: Operation not permitted
but after doing that:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop
sudo dhclient
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor

I have the same problem after upgrading to 2.6.31-5 kernel. I can
connect to the router too, but I cannot connect to the internet from any
older kernels.
