gnome-app-install is not 9.10. Any chance of this bug still getting
fixed in 8.04? At first glance it looks like it's just a matter of
copying postinst to postrm.

like to see it fixed, you should attach a patch to fix it, and be
prepared to guide this through the SRU process.

Since this bug report is for an old version of Ubuntu, I'm adding a
verification-needed tag...
Please update your Ubuntu to the latest Stable Release and try to
replicate this problem, if you still can replicate this bug... please
remove the verification-needed tag and add a verification-done tag
