Gnome Power Manager on Maverick does not show the incorrect behavior. Tested it in a ThinkPad T61p and on an Acer AspireOne. On both machines Power Manager reported the correct values and behaved correctly. -- [karmic] applet not updating battery charge (still says 92% when down to 1%)

Fresh install of Karmic UNR on an Acer Aspire One shows the same error. Gnome-power-manager shows charging icon while /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/state show correct battery information. This is critical. Without gnome-power-manager functioning correctly, the machine just powers off when the battery
