Public bug reported: This system installs, boots, runs 9.04 with no problems.
Also doing an 'update-manager -d' updates to 9.10 and all is well. It's just fresh installs which appear broken. http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/alpha-4/karmic- desktop-i386.iso is the ISO file I used. I used the same process I used with 9.04 to burn this on a CD. 9.10 system starts to boot, produces no messages, then hangs with a black screen. I have an additional disk in this system I can install 9.10 again and I'm happy to work this problem through, if there's someone who can assist me. Thanks. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 4 hangs with black screens on fresh install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416017 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
