You can turn off the computer and restart and maybe the sound is
activated, which should not happen. The normal thing would you connected
the hdmi, select that output and functions. What other stories are not
sleeping and therefore this is a bug user-facing enormous.

I have a DELL Inspiron 1525, and the sound does not work when you
connect mi laptop to the TV for HDMI
I've tried a thousand ways and nothing.
It's pantalla of aplay -l:

Could you please download http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh and

Ok - tested it with pavucontrol installed. No change, even when using
pavucontrol instead of the default audio control.
I tried both HDMI Audio output options. If you need me to run any

(though the Displays manager only recognizes it as a 7, which I think
