Still present in the latest (as of a week or so ago) Edgy and kernel.org
kernels. I have done more background research on the problem, and it is
to do with PCI express support. On the one hand, the kernel developers
seem to be still learning about it, and on the other, more seriously, an
awful
OK, I upgraded my system. Not everything is working yet, but it
definitely does not work unless I add pci=nommconf to the kernel command
line.
So yes, Edgy still has this problem. I suggest that you add this
parameter by default for systems that might be affected.

As a start yes, but I suspect that edgy has some fixes in this area that
may not even be in the vanilla 2.6.17 kernel. Testing against 2.6.18 is
pointless for this bug report, FYI.
