I've got more information, so I reopened the bug.
$ lsusb | grep 1008
Bus 005 Device 012: ID 4102:1008 iRiver, Ltd. iFP-800 series mp3/ogg vorbis
player
There's a lack of permissions that cause the device not work, but for
root. So the device won't work neither with amarok, nor ifp command
I've reopened the bug because is still affecting gutsy. I've also
changed the package from linux-source-2.6.15 to udev, since the problem
is just a missing udev rule.
