I figured out a solution that works indefinitely, at least till an
update comes along anyway. Go to applicationssettingsXfce 4 Settings
ManagerPower Management and all settings for monitor and brightness

- Always happens on logon screen
- Happens after logging on if you press the brightness change button several
times in a row
- Stops after several seconds waiting or opening any folder with

U100 same. I have this problem both on the log in screen and after log
in to desktop. I can stop the screen flickering, and make the brightness
widget stop flickering then disappear, by pressing the right
