Public bug reported: Binary package hint: postgresql-8.3
package postgresql-8.3 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 The automatic security upgrade failed to be installed. I got some sudo confirm password popup screens 2 or 3 password was already confirmed so this was odd. I don't really know if that was related to the package that failed to install or some of the other package. Olso one popup dialog reported the postgresql failure and a line with bullet saying the server failed to start. I expected the automatic security upgrade to install with no failures. I do not know what uses psql on my system, if anything. So this may have been a latent problem on my system, I can do some testing if I get hint of what to look for. bj...@frodo2:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 bj...@frodo2:~$ apt-cache policy postgresql postgresql: Installed: (none) Candidate: 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 Version table: 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com jaunty-security/main Packages 8.3.7-1 0 500 http://no.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages bj...@frodo2:~$ ProblemType: Package Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.04 ErrorMessage: package libpq5 is already installed and configured NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Package: libpq5 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 SourcePackage: postgresql-8.3 Title: package libpq5 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 failed to install/upgrade: package libpq5 is already installed and configured Uname: Linux 2.6.28-15-generic x86_64 ** Affects: postgresql-8.3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-package -- package libpq5 8.3.8-0ubuntu9.04 failed to install/upgrade: package libpq5 is already installed and configured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435050 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
