Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. However Karmic reached EOL
on Octuber 23, 2010, please see this document for currently supported
Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases
I've tried recreating this bug with Precise and Oneiric and was unable
to, it works as expected, given
I'm getting rid of the updates from old dir to the newer one.
Maybe that's the cause of the bug. See release 1.6.0, hope to be fixed from
there.

Hi,
I second (third?) the bug report. Version 1.2.1 installed from Karmic
repositories, it runs fine for one user (with sudo rights) and crashes
for another user. Neither one has the ~/.klavaro/preferences.ini file,
however the working user has .config/klavaro/preferences.ini. After
touching
to help make update with fix this is what i was getting before manual solution.

Correct. also worked for me. i also get the same error messege as posted here.
and solution in bug #353608
mkdir ~/.klavaro touch ~/.klavaro/preferences.ini
after that and starting once and exiting that folder can be removed and
programm works even without them being created ever again.

The workaround from bug #353608 fixed the problem for me in a karmic
install.
mkdir ~/.klavaro
touch ~/.klavaro/preferences.ini

I second the bug report. Version 1.2.1 installed from Karmic
repositories. Will try 1.3.4 from Debian squeeze next - any chance we
can get that in Ubuntu if it works?

OK, the Debian package

with no unmet dependencies or any other issues.

Hello, thanks for your report. I've tried to fix this, just by looking
at your stacktrace. As I didn't succeed to reproduce at my box, I hope
it will work for you. See the last upstream release: 1.3.3
