that my external screens are Dell 19 and Samsung 17.

A bit more info:
* Unplugging the external display doesn't cause the X-server settings
to be updated. Newly-created windows sometimes open on the non-existent
external display.
* Switching the video mode using the keyboard function key triggers
the crash. It's not necessary to use the
