I have exactly this problem too. My Sony C903 mobile phone will get
detected fine for several days and then suddenly my Karmic machine just
doesn't see it. I can attach the same phone to an XP machine and all is

As I have already mentioned, this bug most often happens with USB Mass
Storage devices. Fortunately, usually I don't use them, but some days
ago when I wanted to copy 700 mb to a USB drive, I ran into this bug two
times (and every time I had to reboot my computer).
