I just want to update this bug as I am experiencing it with an old Dapper server, trying to update to Hardy, after multiple attempts, and trying the -p|--proposed switch gets me no further either. I am attaching a tar.gz of my apt.log, main.log and main_pre_req.log from /var/log/dist-upgrade/
