I don't know why this is so hard to explain. Ok, so by default rhythmbox
hides itself when you click the close box, as opposed to exiting. To fix
this, one can set the value of status-icon-mode to 2, then rhythmbox
exits when you click close. Fair enough.
Now, a WHOLE NEW ISSUE comes up when
can't you just change the value of the gconf key?

Hi Ahmedh,
My previous patch made too many unnecessary changes, use this instead.
It changes the behavior of status-icon-mode 2, and is just a one-line
fix.
You should be able to drop it into the debian/patches directory and
build normally, i.e:
$ sudo apt-get build-dep rhythmbox
$ apt-get
Hi Isaac, I have the exact same concern. Does your patch return
Rhythmbox to the Jaunty behavior? If so, what do I *do* with the patch?

When status-icon-mode is set to 2, clicking the tray icon minimizes
Rhythmbox normally, not to the tray (?). But, yes, it does make the
close button exit.
