The bug is not in Yabause itself but in mini18n. I created a 0.1 branch
for mini18n in the upstream repository and commited a fix, the patch is
here:

I can do a 0.1.1
@Guillaume: Thanks for the patch, I have noticed from the patch that I
am not the only person affected, so a 0.1.1 release may be very helpful.
I've also updated this bug to reflect that the bug is in mini18n.
