Thanks for the updates on this. It appears I misread the comments from Michael Hall. If the package in Qimo is from outside the repositories, this bug is not valid for Ubuntu. ** Changed in: squeak-vm (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- package squeak-vm 1:3.9.8-3ubuntu1 failed to

I'm setting this bug back to incomplete since it has not been reproduced on a system running only Ubuntu, rather than an Ubuntu derivative. ** Changed in: squeak-vm (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- package squeak-vm 1:3.9.8-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade:

Can you please tell me, if the bug was reported against Xubuntu, and reproduced on Xubuntu, it is not confirmed as valid? A bug does not have to be reproduced only in Ubuntu to be a valid, confirmed bug. If it does, none of the bugs against Xfce are valid. -- package squeak-vm 1:3.9.8-3ubuntu1

From the description, it appears that the problem was reproduced against https://edge.launchpad.net/qimo. Despite using XFCE, from what I can tell it is a separate distribution. Moreover, nobody else has experienced this problem on a non-Qimo system, or at least that has not been reported. --

Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here. Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better! ** Changed in: squeak-vm (Ubuntu)

There is a problem with the squeak-vm in the Ubuntu repo when trying to run etoys, one of Qimo 1.0's included games. I ended up installing it from outside the repos, which is likely what is causing this problem. Qimo 1.0 has several upgrade issues, mostly because it was my first ever attempt and

Thanks for reporting this issue, however, Qimo should have their own bug reporting system. Have you reported this issue to Qimo? It might be an error caused by the repackaging they do. ** Changed in: squeak-vm (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- package squeak-vm 1:3.9.8-3ubuntu1 failed

I got the same error upgrading Qimo for kids 1.0 (based on Xubuntu 8.10) to 9.04. Someone else said that later package updates replaced it. I just web searched squeak-vm and will read that to see what it actually does. -- package squeak-vm 1:3.9.8-3ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade:

After the upgrade, I did an update and this file had been updated. But when I did a search for Janitor in Synaptic, it wasn't found. So I used the Xubuntu 9.10 RC disk, something tells me it won't look like Qimo any longer, but I'm just testing before passing this computer on to a teacher of
