I am also having a similar problem with Karmic server. I also have an nvidia
(680i) chipset board.
My multi-disk raid 1->LVM fails to boot with the following error.
"fail to mount", and later "waiting on" dev/mapper/VolumeGroupName-

Perhaps the "bored" time-out in mountall is set too low. Does
/dev/mapper/cryptswap1 end up listed in /proc/swaps once you have fully
booted up?

I just got that error message on boot. Let me say that it is only after
I switched on the encrypted swap (using ecryptfs-setup-swap) - before
that I had swap turned off. The funny part is that after booting, swap
is working as is should (ie it is on, and on the correct device).

Weird boot mess
Is your swap encrypted? I am receiving the first message several times,
but my swap is not encrypted so I am not receiving the second one. You
might want to look at Bug #456274 - it's different problem but maybe it
has something common.

the error message in any of the log files.
I'm a /ext4 file system with encrypted home dir.
