Hi,
I rebuilt mopac7-bin from the current jaunty sources 1.13-2
and now things just work (tm).
Maybe a new binary upload for amd64 will solve the problem.

Ubuntu doesn't do binary-only uploads. I'm guessing the only way to fix
that would be to rebuild the source in jaunty, which would require the
Stable Release Update process.

I just tested mopac7 on 1.14-4 in karmic on the amd64 architecture,
the problem is gone here. This is probably due to the fact that
1.14 now builds from the FORTRAN sources directly, so we don't need
f2c/g2c anymore.

I just checked that the broken amd64 build of mopac7-bin
in jaunty is already linked against 20061008-4.1 so that the
comment in the changelog of the NMU upload
does not help immediately.
